Teen Driving Rules

  1. Never play around with passengers and ask them to remain quiet to allow you to focus.
  2. Never use cellphone while driving.
  3. Never mess with the radio while driving.
  4. Never eat while driving.
  5. Always call home if for any reason it is not safe to drive or ride with someone else.
  6. Always call home if going to be late.
  7. Always wear a safety belt and require all passengers to wear safety belts.
  8. Always obey traffic laws
  9. Never speed, tailgate, or cut off others
  10. Never drive after taking any alcohol or drugs or ride with a driver who has taken any drugs or alcohol.
  11. Always tell parent/guardian where you are going and with whom.

Parent Rules

  1. Provide a safe ride home when asked (no questions at that time)
  2. Consider necessary exceptions to the driving privileges
  3. Apply rules fairly and consistently
  4. Point out and discuss safe and dangerous driving situations and practices
  5. Be a good role model behind the wheel
